The bartenders here were nice enough on our recent visit, but ill prepared to make a decent drink. At a neighborhood bar, beer and wine skills are fine, but at a resort, one expects a higher caliber. Our group of 8 sat near the fireplace area, which is really nice. Two ladies sitting next to us brought their own bottle of wine from home and poured it into their water glasses. I found it odd that no one said anything. This brings me to the next point... Servers in the bar were practically non-existent. Like the bartenders, they really didn't know what they were doing. Simple tasks like clearing dirty plates, were done inefficiently. Ten trips back and forth, removing one plate at a time. It was almost comical. We waited 30 minutes for the server to actually take a drink and food order. It was as if she was surprised that we'd want to do that. Sigh Bottom line - basic bar food served here, service mediocre, and if you want to bring your own booze, feel free. They need to invest in a bit of training at The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in the dining areas and lounges....

Jessie and the other bartender who has resting bitch face are the most unapproachable bartenders I have ever seen. We stay at grand geneva at least twice a year for the past five years and I remember these two bartenders for at least the past two years we've been here. They're catty--they sit and talk crap about all their patrons. I get it, I work retail and would love to talk crap about the shoppers, but it's NOT PROFESSIONAL. And they do it out loud, give dirty looks as I just got one as I was writing this review. They're terrible and it's obvious they can't extend themselves outside a resort because a city bar like Chicago or Milwaukee would eat them alive.

Great Martinis and always a nice amount of people to mingle with. Beautiful resort to enjoy if you're staying there or just in the area.

Great Bar! Drinks are very good here. The blueberry lemon martini it is just perfect. There is also Patio sitting with a nice fireplace! The only down comment is from me that the waitress mass up my order. I ordered a bacon burger and I got different burger instead without bacon. I did asked for a bacon and the special mayo, never got it! on my check it said "Bacon Burger" bad service recovery! Waitress Desiree G. need more training!

We had fun here last night! We just sat by the fireplace but enjoyed it very much! The bartenders here were top notch. Attentive and kind. Much better than the lounge bartenders who we're absolutely rude. We can't wait to go again and steal a place at the outside fire pit.

As far as the bars go on Grand Geneva property, Evolve is tops. It's a bit further back than the main bar off the lobby and thus is less crowded and more intimate. In the evening they dim the lighting and raise the volume of the music, getting a bit more dancey at night. Apparently it's a full blown dance club at night. The DJ appeared to be an iPod hooked up to the speaker system. My friends and I enjoyed having a beer here around the fire. There are a lot of nice seating areas around the room but to be seated by the fireplace is tops! They have a decent beer selection with some good local brews - I had a Spotted Cow from New Glarus Brewing. Service was pleasant, drink selection was decent, atmosphere is great, prices are a bit high but it's to be expected at a resort.

Came here after my honeymoon dinner at the Chophouse last weekend since it is located right next door. The lounge was nice! Very modern, dim and sexy. The booths and chairs were comfy and the Mister liked all the flat screens around that had the games playing. The reason this place didn't get 5 stars is because my drinks were bad. They tasted good but they hardly put enough alcohol in them. We weren't trying to be 'fall-down, slurred speech' wasted but we didn't want be staring at all the other tipsy folks having a blast either. There is no reason we had 3 whiskey sours and a patron shot each and we were as sober as we were. And here's the kicker, My hubby doesn't even drink! He was only drinking for our special occasion. And I hadn't had any strong liquor in close to 3 wks prior to that day so I was expecting to be a bit more tipsy. Maybe I'm just used to the bars and restaurants in Chicago doing it right because these drinks were all wrong. That night our waitress was training someone so she wasn't as attentive as she could have been and we had already been in there over 2hrs so I didn't even feel like complaining. Just didn't like how our drinks sat on the bar so long causing the ice to melt and water down our drinks.
